Our University is one of the most diverse and affordable in the state of Illinois. We are
located within a short drive of the Shawnee National
Forest and have earned international acclaim as the second largest comprehensive university
in Illinois. With over 22,000 students, we offer a big-school educational experience in
a small town setting.

Office of Undergraduate Admissions has prepared information
for the prospective undergraduate. This
information includes the admission process; an on-line admission application; SIUC majors, specializations, and minors; financial aid opportunities including
student employment; campus visit information; housing options; the
undergraduate catalog and much more. Also, as a potential undergraduate you are no doubt aware that each degree program has a unique set of requirements.

The Office of Distance Education offers courses to both degree seeking and non-degree students regardless of their location. To meet student needs for alternative learning methods, our Distance Education courses are offered in interactive video, print-based and web-based formats. Print-based (correspondence) and Web-based courses are offered by the Individualized Learning Program (ILP). Web-based courses and Two-Way Interactive Video courses are offered through the Office of Distance Education and adminstrated by the Division of Continuing Education. If you have decided to join our University and have already applied for admission, you will find

if you need to satisfy additional requirements for admittance.
After you have been admitted to SIUC, you will want to make housing arrangements. To make this
process easier we have provided on-line
housing information which includes policies,
requirements and more.
Financial assistance is available to students who qualify. Last year, SIUC administered over $123 million dollars of assistance in the form of grants, scholarships, loans and student employment to more than 20,400 students. For more information, contact our Financial Aid Office.
